Above all, thank you for praying for the Kapas family, for Deanna’s extended family and for all those who loved her. Many are hurting deeply as anguished hearts try to envision a future that does not include the Deanna we know and love. Pray the steadfast love of the Lord would meet John and the kids with the dawning of each new day.

Deanna’s last CaringBridge post was in March 2023. She ended it with a C.S. Lewis quote:

"There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind."

May that truth bring each of us comfort today.

Deanna's Passion

Deanna was a fierce advocate for the Down syndrome community and a life-long woman of faith.

Please consider memorials to organizations serving the Down syndrome community. A couple of options are listed below.

Jack's Basket

An organization with a mission to celebrate babies with Down syndrome. They strive to ensure that every new and expectant parent is provided resources and avenues of support within the community.

True Gems

True Gems is an adaptive dance program for children & young adults with special needs. Each dancer receives the t-shirts, costumes, and shoes needed for each dance year. The program is funded through generous donations and is offered at no cost to participant families.
